Church of the Resurrection
Since 1909, The Church of the Resurrection, situated in the Brookline Community of the City of Pittsburgh, has been and
continues to be “home” to countless generations of families. Serving as a beacon of spirituality, Resurrection
is and will continue to be the living example of church being one with its community and with its God. Remembering the contributions
made to the community by parishioners of the past, we seek to provide new opportunities for members of the parish to grow
in faith by being liturgically centered, lectionary based, mission bound and family oriented.
Called and challenged by Jesus Christ to “love one another as he loves us,” we welcome and embrace all in
the community by refusing to accept any form of prejudice and discrimination. By proclaiming and witnessing to the good News,
we live out our commitment to evangelization. Through active participation in liturgical rites and communal prayer, we are
made one with Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. By commitment to the education of young and old alike, we spread
the Word of God. Through outreach services intended to eliminate the many and varied forms of injustice present around us,
we are encouraged to use our gifts and talents in fulfilling our obligations as Christians to build up the Kingdom. It is
in the celebration of the Eucharist, the core of our faith, that we are directed and strengthened to carry out our parish
mission to remember, to celebrate and to believe.
